About Me

I'm Kira proud Army Wife and Mommy to 2 Boys. I am currently a SAHM and will be starting online classes soon for Medical Administration. I'm really not cut out to be a full time SAHM and I have recentley come to realize this. I love my boys and I support my Husband 100% but I hate making no money and not contributing to our family. We are making it on Army pay but sometimes it's not enough. I want my boys to have things I never got to have and do things I never got to do.

We recently bought a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, single story house, when we moved from Massachusetts, it is our first Army move so I think we are crazy. It's not a fixer upper like I always imagined we would have, it's a brand new build. With things being so new I just can't see myself ripping things apart, but it is pretty plain and simple, honestly, for my taste.

Our entire inside walls are one color. Every room is a shade of flat beige and all our trim is gloss white. It works perfectly with our beige carpet and oil rubbed bronze lighting fixtures. I love the ceiling fan in the living room but dislike the chandelier in the dining room. The space just doesn't feel like a dining room, so it just doesn't work for me. We have a gorgeous trey ceiling and a small foyer that is cherry wood laminate, I believe. Our plan is to rip up the carpet eventually and put all hard wood flooring in.

Eventually I would like to add a kitchen island and use it as our table/bar area and also to use it as a seperation from the dining area, since the space is very open. We have really nice stainless steel appliances that I love. It's nothing fancy or high end but they do the job. Our cabinets are a light oak wood with stainless handle. We have laminate in both bathrooms and kitchen. We to replace the kitchen floor with tile or hardwood as well.

We also have a few major projects in the backyard. We are saving up for privacy fence, the other bad thing about this area is our neighbors houses are only a few feet from eachother. There was a slope that we recently cleared out from overgrowth and I am envisioning a pretty brick retaining wall. I want to get a small bistro table and chairs or a hammock. It's a great place to keep cool since it is under trees. I wanted to lay crushed rocks on top but the area is quite large it will probably be too costly so maybe just going with grass. I want to do it myself with Adam's help of course but he says we should hire a landscaper. My other big ticket item is a pool. I would love to put a small above ground pool off the deck. I just always wanted a house with a pool and it would be money well spent since it can help Gabe, my little one, with his eczema troubles.

We have done a few minor things in the back yard. We dug up the woods you see in these pics and we put some new grass seed. Our yard was taken over by crab grass but at least it isn't all muddy like it used to be. We also put some patio bricks where we keep our trash bin and at the bottom of our steps. Unfortunately the bricks below the steps did not settle right so we are going to have to dig them up and replace them. Overall I think it came out nice.

So basically the house and things I want to do for the house are my reasons for wanting a job Besides it is nice to get out every once in a while..lol.
