Couponing

About 2 months ago I decided to try and use coupons for some of our grocery and household purchases. I never realized in only a few short weeks how much I would become addicted to finding good deals and saving money. I came home after saving $50 at Walgreens and started googling like crazy. I found so many wonderful blogs and forums dedicated to helping others to save money. I know have my own 5 year old telling some family members "I do not think Mom has a coupon for that so she probably will not buy it"..lol.

I bought Christmas presents for some family members ( Glade candles, Airwick i-motions, etc.. ) and it cost me less than $15 for 18 gift bags. I stocked up on almost 8 months worth of deodarant ( some nice expensive ones too ) for less than $10. I got a Olay Ribbons body wash, a full size Olay Quench lotion and an small in shower lotion for $1.99, my list could go on and on.

The first step to using coupons would be to aquire some..lol. This sundays paper has 5 inserts so it's a great start to adding to a great collection. You can also find some high value coupons ( coupons that will give you little to no out of pocket costs ) on ebay and some other coupons sites. I haven't started doing this yet but another good way to get a good stockpile is to buy multiple papers. There is a great site where you can see what coupons are coming out called http://www.sundaycouponpreview.com/ , using this tool can help you figure out if it is worth it or not to buy more than one paper.

I currently do not buy anything that I will not use. I know there are some that do buy things because for instance they will be a RR ( register reward @ Walgreens ) or and ECB ( extra care buck @ CVS ) money maker. I just do not have the need for it I don't buy it. Hubby would just not go for it, maybe when he's deployed ;0) I still believe I do pretty good and that's all that matters at this point.

I'm not sure if this blog would ever be as popular as some of my favorites but I am glad that I can share some good deals with some family and friends!!
